Paul Dunphy

Paul Dunphy joined the PLF in 2023 and is currently the General Manager of Facilities for Bay Venues Ltd. He has worked in the local government sector in the UK and NZ for over 20 years, holding a number of senior roles in local government in London and Tauranga. Paul has overseen the development and operations of green spaces, recreation, sustainability, climate change initiatives, and community facilities throughout his career and is an active proponent of the health benefits of ensuring these services are inclusive and available to everyone. 

Paul brings immense experience in governance, having served on various boards in the UK. His leadership style is characterized by ethical values and a partnership-oriented approach. Paul has a track record of leading community-led partnerships and managing large teams with a broad community impact.

Paul wants to leverage his experience to benefit the recreation and leisure sector, particularly in finding innovative delivery methods in NZ. Paul has a growing involvement with mana whenua in Tauranga and is committed to cultural heritage and inclusive relationships
