Kia ora Koutou,
The Parks Leaders Forum Board is delighted to announce that retiring PLF Board Member Michael Ayrton has been appointed by the PLF Board in the special new role of Board Advisor.
This new role recognises Michael’s lifelong service to the industry, sector leadership and extensive governance experience. Michael has served as Board member on the Australasian Parks Forum, the HITO Board, as well as assisting with transitional arrangements in the inception of the Parks Leaders Forum and has recently stepped down from the PLF Board as an inaugural board member with over 10 years of leadership service at this level. Michael is a recipient of the Parks Leaders Forum Outstanding Leader Award and the Ian Galloway Memorial Cup for Outstanding Contribution to the Parks Industry.
Michael continues to support the PLF and will soon be retiring from his role as Parks Director at Cornwall Park, Auckland. Michael continues to advocate and network for the PLF and will assist the board with governance, tangata whenua and sponsorship connections, international parks agency networking and projects with the PLF Board Chair, Board and Convenor. Michael’s international parks sector network is unsurpassed and the PLF Board is thrilled that Michael will continue to be available to lead us forward in key areas and contacts. Michael will ease into this role in the first half of 2022 alongside the conclusion of his 30-year Parks Director role at Cornwall Park.
Congratulations Michael!
Ngā mihi,
Geoff
